• Schedule: Every other weekend; holidays as needed by department operations
• Setting: Acute care medical-surgical and telemetry float environment

• Orientation: 24 hours

Job Requirements

• 2 years of acute care inpatient RN experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
• Experience working in multiple Med/Surg areas such as cardiac, spine, and neuro
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification from AHA required
• Epic charting experience required
• Ability to pass a telemetry exam prior to start
• Basic arrhythmia knowledge required
• Willingness to float to neuro and oncology units as needed
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to adult patients on Med/Surg and telemetry units
• Monitor telemetry rhythms and recognize changes in cardiac status
• Perform thorough patient assessments and escalate concerns appropriately
• Administer medications, treatments, and nursing interventions according to the plan of care
• Support patients with complex medical and surgical diagnoses in an acute care setting
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Float across assigned departments and adapt quickly to changing patient needs
• Document accurately in Epic and follow unit workflows, protocols, and standards of care
• Promote patient-centered and family-centered care in every interaction
