Job Details

• Position: Registered Nurse – Cardiac Stepdown / Progressive Care RN
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
• Setting: Acute Inpatient Progressive Care / Telemetry Unit
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Assignment Length: 18 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470 - $2,600
• Start Date: ASAP
• Location: Plattsburgh, NY 12901
• Weekend/Holiday Commitment: Minimum every other weekend; 2 of 3 major holidays as needed
• Floating: Required to appropriate units as needed

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience required
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in the Cardiac Stepdown or Progressive Care specialty required
• Active New York RN license, or proof of application with applied date at time of submission
• Current AHA BLS certification required
• Current AHA ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required prior to start
• Recent Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years required
• Experience with cardiac drips, insulin drips, starting IVs, and post-cardiac cath care preferred
• Must be comfortable floating as part of a resource team
• Reliable transportation strongly recommended for this travel nurse assignment

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in a Cardiac Stepdown / Progressive Care nursing environment
• Monitor and manage adult patients with acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, hemodynamic instability, and other complex cardiac conditions
• Administer and titrate cardiac, insulin, and other closely monitored IV drips per protocol
• Care for post-PTCA/stent patients, vascular surgery patients, and patients requiring frequent observation
• Perform starting IVs, telemetry monitoring, and post-cardiac cath care
• Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support safe patient outcomes
• Float to appropriate units based on patient care needs and staffing priorities
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow all unit protocols and standards
