• Location: Carlsbad, NM
• Setting: General Medical-Surgical Inpatient Unit
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: 9/21/2026
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• Hours Per Week: 36 guaranteed hours
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
• Environment: Floating and occasional call required based on census needs
• EMR: MedHost

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and PALS preferred
• Experience caring for adult medical-surgical patients; occasional non-critical pediatric patients may be assigned
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and adapt to floating as needed
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult Medical-Surgical patients in an inpatient hospital setting
• Assess patient conditions, monitor progress, and respond appropriately to changes in status
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with provider orders and best practices
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to support patient recovery
• Document patient care accurately in the EMR
• Support a patient ratio of approximately 1:6
• Float or assist with census-based call as needed
• Maintain a professional, patient-focused approach in a dynamic travel nursing environment
