CVOR Surgical Technologist Travel Job in Madison, Wisconsin

Job Details
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,930 - $2,080
- Assignment Length: 26 weeks
- Start Date: 11/24/2026
- Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts
- Shifts Per Week: 3
- Schedule: Day/Evening coverage with Monday-Friday variation
- Weekend Coverage: Every 4-5 weekends, Friday through Monday morning
- Orientation: 40 hours
- Setting: Hospital-based Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
- Location: Madison, WI 53792 — a vibrant city known for its scenic lakes, walkable neighborhoods, local dining, and welcoming community atmosphere
- Environment: High-acuity surgical setting with complex cardiovascular and thoracic procedures
Job Requirements
- 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist or in a CVOR setting
- Completion of a Surgical Technologist program preferred, or equivalent experience may be considered
- BLS certification required
- CST certification required
- Strong experience in cardiac surgery and thoracic surgery strongly preferred
- Experience with complex procedures such as CABG, ECMO, LVAD, thoracic robotics, VATS, lung resection, valve procedures, and aneurysm repair preferred
- Comfort working independently as the sole scrub tech in the room
- Experience in Level I or similar high-acuity hospitals strongly preferred
- Ability to support patients across all age groups, including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
- Must be prepared to float as needed and meet all pre-start clinical screening requirements
Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize the operating room before surgical cases
- Maintain a safe, sterile environment throughout procedures
- Assist the surgeon and OR team during cardiovascular and thoracic operations
- Handle instruments, supplies, and equipment with accuracy and attention to detail
- Anticipate surgeon needs to help ensure efficient case flow
- Support patient safety before, during, and after surgery
- Work confidently in complex cardiac and thoracic procedures with minimal supervision
- Collaborate with the surgical team while scrubbing independently as the sole technologist in the room
- Adapt to a variety of surgical cases and age groups in a high-acuity environment
- Float as needed to support department needs and maintain excellent patient care standards
