Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license and current BLS certification
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Experience with nephrology, renal care, kidney transplants, or dialysis strongly preferred
• Ability to work night shift and communicate effectively in a patient-centered inpatient setting
• Comfortable managing a 1:6 patient ratio in a busy Med/Surg unit
• Willingness to float as needed, with contract nurses floating first

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality Med/Surg nursing care to assigned patients
• Support patients with nephrology and transplant-related medical needs
• Monitor patient condition, respond to changes, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Document care accurately in Meditech EMR
• Work alongside unit secretaries, patient care techs, and the unit educator to support workflow
• Deliver compassionate bedside care while maintaining efficiency and attention to detail
• Assist with admissions and ongoing patient care needs throughout the shift
