• Duration: 13 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,260-$2,430
• Schedule: Days, Monday through Friday, with flexible start times based on case load and call coverage
• Shift Duration: 8-hour days
• Call: Approximately every third day and every third weekend, subject to variation
• Hours Per Week: 40
• Setting: Cardiovascular surgery / operating room

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant CVOR, operating room, or surgical first assist experience required
• Minimum of 1 year of travel nursing experience required
• Current RN license in the state of Ohio
• RNFA certification required
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• CRNFA preferred
• Associate degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred
• Must be proficient in vein harvest and radial harvest
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam
• Strong OR, CVOR, and first-assist skill set required

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during cardiovascular and operative procedures in the operating room
• Perform patient assessment and support safe, high-quality perioperative care
• Maintain a sterile field and assist with sponge, sharps, and instrument counts
• Retract tissue and support operative exposure under direct physician supervision
• May clamp, cut, and tie bleeders as directed by the surgeon
• May use cautery, suction, and irrigation techniques per physician direction
• Perform fascia, subcutaneous tissue, and skin suturing when indicated
• Prepare equipment and supplies based on patient needs and surgeon preference
• Monitor patients physiologically during surgery and reassess care needs throughout the case
• Contribute to performance improvement, patient education, and collaborative care within the surgical team
