• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 07:00 to 19:30
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week; 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020 to $2,130
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Scheduling Notes: No blocked scheduling

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of recent RN experience in a PCU, intermediate care, telemetry, or similar high-acuity setting
• Active Registered Nurse license
• BLS certification through AHA
• ACLS certification through AHA
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips
• NIHSS certification or demonstrated stroke care competency
• Experience with Epic preferred
• Strong critical thinking skills and comfort with intermediate care acuity
• Ability to complete required Relias exams upon booking

PCU Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care for patients with complex neurological, trauma, and transplant-related needs
• Monitor and respond to acute stroke, seizure, and post-neurosurgical conditions
• Perform frequent assessments and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Manage patients requiring cardiac monitoring, IV drips, and advanced interventions
• Assist with procedures and support care for arterial lines, central lines, lumbar drains, and tracheotomy patients
• Complete NIHSS assessments and support timely escalation of changes in patient condition
• Administer medications, perform IV starts, peripheral lab draws, and arterial blood draws as needed
• Deliver safe, patient-centered care while maintaining excellent documentation and communication
• Support continuity of care for patients transitioning between intermediate care and higher levels of care
