Job Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of sterile processing experience in an acute care or hospital environment
• Associate degree preferred, or high school diploma/equivalent with equivalent experience
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) through HSPA or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) through CBSPD
• Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) through HSPA or Certified Surgical Instrument Specialist (CSIS) through CBSPD within 6 months of hire
• Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL) through HSPA or Sterile Processing Management certification through CBSPD within 1 year of hire
• BLS certification required
• Strong knowledge of sterile processing standards, surgical instrumentation, and OR workflow
• Experience in an acute care operating room or perioperative setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Oversee and support sterile processing operations for the operating room
• Ensure surgical instruments are cleaned, inspected, assembled, sterilized, and distributed accurately and safely
• Maintain high standards of infection prevention, quality control, and instrument readiness
• Collaborate with perioperative and surgical teams to support efficient workflow and patient care
• Monitor compliance with facility policies, industry guidelines, and safety protocols
• Manage rotating call responsibilities as scheduled
• Help maintain a positive, organized, and patient-focused healthcare work environment
