Job Details

• Type: Travel Sterile Processing Technician assignment
• Setting: Hospital / Central Sterile Processing Department (SPD)
• Schedule: 4x10 schedule, Wednesday through Saturday
• Shift Duration: 10-hour evening shift
• Hours per Week: 40
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,470 - $1,580
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Location: Reno, NV 89502

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of Sterile Processing Technician experience required
• CSPDT or CRCST certification required
• Strong knowledge of sterilization, decontamination, and surgical instrument processing procedures
• Experience in a busy hospital, operating room support, or central sterile environment preferred
• Ability to work in a high-volume healthcare setting with changing priorities
• Detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to quality assurance and infection control standards
• Ability to float to other organizational needs within competency level
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional additional shifts as needed

Responsibilities

• Clean, decontaminate, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical supplies
• Prepare multi-specialty and general surgery trays for safe operating room use
• Ensure instruments and equipment meet strict sterility, functionality, and patient safety standards
• Maintain accurate quality assurance, documentation, and infection prevention processes
• Support operating room staff, surgical teams, and other clinical departments with dependable sterile supplies
• Monitor inventory levels and help maintain adequate reserve supplies for routine and emergency needs
• Assist with vendor instruments and specialty sets as needed
• Contribute to a safe, efficient, and well-organized sterile processing department
