Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Job – Kalamazoo, Michigan

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license
• 2 years of stepdown, telemetry, or ICU nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers may be considered
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Prior experience with Cerner PowerChart required
• Ability to care for adult and geriatric patients in a high-acuity intermediate care setting
• Willingness to work every other weekend and rotate holidays as needed
• Flexibility to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals based on census and volume

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for cardiac stepdown and intermediate care patients
• Monitor and manage patients with CHF, pneumonia, sepsis, DKA, stroke, and post-surgical needs
• Support telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and recognition of cardiac rhythm changes
• Administer medications and therapies according to unit protocols and patient-specific needs
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, phlebotomy, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately in Cerner PowerChart
• Care for patients requiring respiratory support, wound care, lines, drains, and post-procedure monitoring
• Deliver compassionate, team-oriented care with a strong focus on patient safety and quality outcomes
