Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (Travel) – Wilmington, NC

• Work Environment: High-acuity, fast-paced, mixed adult medical/surgical population

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a compact state
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry or similar acute care RN experience
• Previous travel nurse experience required
• BLS and ACLS required
• Ability to pass EKG testing prior to start
• Strong telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and cardiac rhythm management skills
• Experience with PCU-level patients preferred
• Comfortable floating to ED and Med/Surg units as needed
• Ability to thrive in a high-turnover environment with very sick patients
• Flu vaccine required, with medical or religious exemptions only
• Flexible with scheduling and comfortable working in a team-based float pool environment

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with medical and surgical diagnoses
• Monitor telemetry, identify rhythm changes, and respond appropriately to patient deterioration
• Support patients in ED holding while they wait for inpatient beds
• Float to ED and Med/Surg areas based on patient care needs
• Perform and assist with common nursing interventions, including IV therapy, oxygen delivery, tube care, and isolation precautions
• Administer medications and blood products safely and accurately
• Collaborate with rapid response, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, and other interdisciplinary teams
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively using SBAR and Epic electronic charting
• Deliver safe, compassionate, and efficient patient care in a fast-moving clinical setting
• Adapt quickly to changing assignments, priorities, and unit needs
