• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Shifts Per Week: 3
• Shift Duration: 12 hours
• Contract Length: 20 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,200 - $2,320
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per month
• Float Requirement: May float to Perinatal as needed
• On-Call: Voluntary

Job Requirements

• Active California RN license required at submission
• Minimum of 3 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience required
• Epic experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred but not required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced
• Must successfully complete required pre-start EKG testing and modules
• References required
• Must be able to work most holidays
• Must be comfortable in a smoke/nicotine-free facility environment

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to laboring patients and newborns in a busy Labor & Delivery unit
• Monitor fetal heart patterns and respond promptly to changes in maternal or fetal status
• Use external fetal monitoring and recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Circulate for C-sections and assist with high-acuity obstetric procedures
• Support care for low- and high-risk Labor & Delivery patients
• Collaborate with OB hospitalists, anesthesia, NICU, postpartum, and interdisciplinary support teams
• Maintain accurate documentation and workflow using the facility’s clinical systems
• Adapt quickly to unit needs, including floating to Perinatal when required
