• Shift: 12-hour day shifts (06:45 - 19:15)
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week; approximately 36 hours per week
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,710 - $1,800
• Setting: Mixed-acuity PCU, Med Surg Tele, and Observation Unit
• Charting System: Epic
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Floating within the service line and between nearby facilities may be required

Job Requirements

• 2 years of recent acute care Registered Nurse experience required
• Charge nurse experience required
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with intermediate medication drips such as heparin, nitro, cardizem, and insulin
• Strong telemetry, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced observation and progressive care environment with changing patient needs
• Weekend availability required
• Travel nursing experience is welcome; first-time travel nurses with Level I or II trauma experience may be considered
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a mixed-acuity Progressive Care Unit / Observation setting
• Monitor telemetry and recognize changes in patient condition promptly
• Manage patients with diagnoses including chest pain, atrial fibrillation, TIA, CHF, COPD, dehydration/AKI, GI bleed, syncope, and post-operative complications
• Administer and manage medication drips according to unit protocols and hospital standards
• Deliver safe, accurate patient care with a strong focus on assessment, reassessment, and timely intervention
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and other clinical support teams
• Document thoroughly and accurately in Epic
• Float within scope to support service line needs across related units and nearby facilities
• Support patient education and discharge readiness in a fast-moving observation environment
• Contribute to a positive, team-centered culture focused on quality outcomes and patient safety
