- Charting System: Epic preferred
- Schedule Notes: Rotating day/night schedule with weekend coverage and occasional extra shifts available
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of pediatric cardiac nursing, PICU, or critical care nursing experience
- Travel nurse experience required
- Active RN license in Washington or a compact RN license
- BLS and PALS certifications required
- Strong background in pediatric cardiac surgery, CVPICU, or pediatric intensive care preferred
- Experience with ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, central line care, and blood product administration
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and float within scope as needed
- Epic experience is preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Provide expert pediatric critical care nursing to patients with congenital and acquired heart conditions
- Monitor patient status and respond quickly to changes in a high-acuity PICU / CVPICU setting
- Care for patients requiring advanced support such as ventilators, chest tubes, central lines, and continuous monitoring
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, IV teams, and other interdisciplinary healthcare professionals
- Administer medications, blood products, and specialized treatments according to patient needs
- Support safe, family-centered care for infants, children, and adolescents in a fast-paced pediatric hospital environment
- Document accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record
- Float within scope to meet patient care needs across the unit or lower levels of care when appropriate
