  • Schedule: 36 hours per week; 12-hour rotating shifts (day/night), typically 3x12s
  • Additional Schedule Notes: Every-other-weekend and holiday rotation; 2 on-call shifts per 4-week period

Job Requirements

  • Active New York State RN license
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certification required (AHA or RQI accepted where applicable)
  • Minimum of 2 years of acute hospital RN experience
  • At least 1 year of recent Emergency Department RN experience
  • Strong clinical assessment, prioritization, and triage skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity, fast-moving environment
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform rapid triage, assess patient acuity, and prioritize care for patients of all ages
  • Deliver direct nursing care for urgent and emergent conditions in the Emergency Department
  • Carry out appropriate interventions, procedures, treatments, and evaluations based on patient condition
  • Monitor patient progress and respond quickly to changes in status
  • Support patients and families with clear communication, education, and discharge instructions
  • Collaborate with physicians, providers, and the care team to promote safe, efficient, compassionate care
  • Maintain accurate documentation and uphold infection prevention and patient safety standards
  • Contribute to a supportive healing environment that respects the needs of every patient and family
