Overview

The Telemetry Registered Nurse provides patient-centered care using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for adult and geriatric patients. In this telemetry RN role, you will care for patients with cardiac rule-outs, CHF exacerbations, pre- and post-cardiac cath needs, and select detox and post-operative cases. Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice or compact state license
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire if not already obtained
• BLS required
• Dysrhythmia exam required
• Ability to manage telemetry and stepdown patients safely and effectively
• Experience with cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Nitro, and Heparin preferred
• Strong assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking skills
• Comfort working night shifts and adapting to a fast-paced patient care environment

Responsibilities

• Complete initial and ongoing patient assessments and determine priorities of care
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
• Administer medications safely and in accordance with policy and standards of practice
• Monitor telemetry patients and respond promptly to changes in condition
• Care for patients with chest pain, CHF, post-cardiac cath needs, and alcohol detox concerns
• Titrate drips as appropriate and monitor patients receiving cardiac therapies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families to support understanding and recovery
• Maintain patient safety, privacy, and infection-control practices at all times
• Adapt quickly to changing patient needs while delivering compassionate, evidence-based nursing care
