Registered Nurse Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in wound care, wound ostomy continence, or a closely related specialty
• Current AHA BLS certification
• Wound care certification such as WCC, CWS, or CWCN
• CWON(R) or CWOCN(R) certification required for WOC nurse roles
• Ostomy experience is preferred, but not required
• Ability to work scheduled holiday coverage as assigned

Wound Care Nurse Responsibilities

• Assess and manage patients with complex wounds, pressure injuries, and skin integrity concerns
• Provide specialized wound care interventions and support evidence-based treatment plans
• Educate patients and families on wound prevention, care techniques, and healing strategies
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to promote optimal patient outcomes
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately and thoroughly
• Support ostomy care needs when applicable and within scope of practice
