Travel ICU RN opportunity in Clinton, MD 20735, near the Washington, D.C. metro area. Join a fast-paced critical care and PACU team providing high-acuity care for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients in a well-supported hospital setting.

• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts
• Schedule: Approximately 3 shifts per week
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Call: Required, approximately 5-6 call shifts per 6-week period
• Weekends: 2 weekends per 6 weeks
• Float Requirement: Float to ICU as needed
• Orientation: 16 hours

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Minimum 1 prior travel nursing assignment required
• High-acuity PACU experience required, including Phase I, Phase II, and pre-op/post-op care
• Experience with pediatric PACU and ICU-level patient care
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
• Cerner charting experience required
• Must pass an EKG rhythm interpretation exam for clearance
• Flu vaccination required; COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Must be comfortable with rotating weekends, call, and floating to ICU

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality critical care nursing and PACU recovery care to patients with complex and evolving needs
• Monitor patients through Phase I and Phase II recovery, pre-op, and post-op workflows
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, prioritize interventions, and respond quickly to changes in condition
• Manage airways, IV therapy, arterial lines, vasoactive support, and post-anesthesia recovery care
• Collaborate closely with physicians, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Provide compassionate care across a broad patient population, including pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
• Float to ICU coverage as needed while maintaining a high standard of critical care nursing practice
• Document accurately in Cerner and maintain compliance with unit and facility expectations
