• Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
• Hours per Week: 36
• Schedule: Rotating days and nights; weekend coverage and on-call may be required based on unit needs
• Floating: Required within the Women & Infants unit, with possible float support across the Denver metro region as needed
• Charting System: Epic
• Patient Ratio: 1:2

Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado or a compact state
• Minimum of 1 year of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications required
• Experience with rotating shifts, weekend coverage, and on-call expectations
• Strong clinical skills in obstetric, antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care
• Ability to float within scope and adapt to changing unit needs in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Comfort working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary women’s health team

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate maternity care for laboring and postpartum patients
• Monitor fetal and maternal status and respond promptly to changes in condition
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and high-risk obstetric procedures
• Support triage, assessment, patient education, and care planning throughout the labor and delivery process
• Administer medications and manage IV therapies, including oxytocin and magnesium sulfate
• Perform and document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in Epic
• Collaborate closely with physicians, anesthesia, respiratory therapy, and other interdisciplinary healthcare professionals
• Maintain a calm, supportive environment for patients and families during delivery
