Travel Nursing Job Details

• Floating: Required within skillset to ICUs, PACU ICU holds, ED ICU holds, and Cardiac IMC units

CVICU RN Job Requirements

• Active NJ RN license or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience required
• SICU experience may be considered if initial training in a CVICU was completed
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Experience with fresh post-op cardiac cases, including CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR
• Experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT using PrisMax
• Strong knowledge of ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and vasoactive drips
• Must be comfortable with floating and working in a high-acuity critical care environment
• First-time travelers welcomed

Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care for critically ill cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients
• Monitor and manage fresh post-op open heart patients, including CABG, valve repair/replacement, and TAVR cases
• Care for patients requiring advanced devices and therapies such as Impella, IABP, CRRT, pacers, and Swan-Ganz monitoring
• Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, insulin protocols, sedation, and paralytic infusions as ordered
• Manage arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, chest tubes, and ventilated patients
• Interpret dysrhythmias, ABGs, and 12-lead EKGs to support timely clinical decision-making
• Deliver safe, evidence-based care while collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Maintain infection prevention standards, isolation precautions, and accurate documentation in Epic
• Adapt to shifting patient acuity and support unit needs across assigned critical care areas
