Radiation Therapist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience preferred
• Current BLS certification
• ARRT certification for Radiation Therapy required
• Current Arizona State CTT Radiation Therapist certification required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced acute care environment
• Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and patient safety focus
• Comfortable with physical demands including standing, lifting, and repetitive motion

Radiation Therapy Responsibilities

• Administer external beam radiation therapy accurately according to physician orders and treatment plans
• Perform startup procedures for the linear accelerator and simulator
• Complete morning quality assurance and report any variances promptly
• Perform conventional and CT simulations, including immobilization and custom blocking
• Prepare patients for treatment and verify documentation before each session
• Carry out photon and electron block fabrication and support IMRT/compensator field QA
• Document treatment details, patient setup, and any deviations or concerns
• Coordinate with dosimetry, retrieve plans and calculations, and maintain accurate electronic records
• Assist with weekly chart checks, on-treatment visits, chart rounds, and tumor board participation
• Practice radiation safety standards and report equipment issues or malfunctions immediately
• Maintain a patient-centered approach while supporting an efficient, organized treatment workflow
