• Floating: May float to similar medical-surgical or intermediate care units based on unit needs

Job Requirements

• Active RN license
• At least 1 year of recent registered nurse experience; 1-2 years preferred for this Med/Surg Tele RN role
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and rhythm strip interpretation
• Experience caring for patients with tracheostomies
• Intermediate care nurses must have ventilator experience
• Current BLS certification
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and a flexible schedule with a team-oriented approach
• Comfortable caring for patients with respiratory, medical telemetry, and acute-on-chronic conditions

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to medical telemetry and intermediate care patients
• Monitor patient status, assess changes, and respond appropriately to evolving clinical needs
• Interpret telemetry strips and support management of patients with complex medical conditions
• Care for patients with respiratory needs, sepsis, DKA, altered mental status, and failure to thrive
• Manage equipment and interventions including CPAP, BiPAP, ventilators, IV pumps, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, and specialty beds
• Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary care team to promote patient-centered outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow established clinical and unit protocols
• Support a culture of teamwork, flexibility, and strong communication
