Job Details

• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Schedule: Every other weekend required; block scheduling may be available when possible
• Hours: 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks

• Charting System: EPIC
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130 - $2,250

Job Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• At least 1 year of emergency nursing or acute care nursing experience required; 2 years preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• PALS or ENPC required
• TNCC or TNS required
• Ability to interpret and respond to cardiac rhythms
• Comfort working with vasopressor drips, cardiac drips, and other titratable infusions
• Must be able to meet onboarding requirements, including a negative drug screen

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled, compassionate emergency nursing care to patients ranging from newborns to older adults
• Assess, stabilize, and manage patients with strokes, heart attacks, trauma, and other critical conditions
• Monitor and titrate medications and infusions for patients with complex or rapidly changing needs
• Recognize life-threatening rhythms and respond appropriately in emergent situations
• Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, ED techs, and the broader care team to support safe, efficient patient flow
• Assist with care of stabilized trauma patients after transfer from the trauma bay as needed
• Float as a help-all resource when assigned, supporting department needs within scope
• Deliver high-quality patient care while adapting to a dynamic, high-volume emergency department
