• Shift: 12-hour nights, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
• Hours per Week: 36
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,710 - $1,800
• Orientation: 32 hours
• Weekend Requirement: Minimum of 3 weekend shifts every 6 weeks
• Float Requirement: Open to floating to other intermediate care and critical care areas as needed
• Call Requirement: None

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in neuro stepdown, progressive care unit (PCU), direct observation unit (DOU), intermediate care (IMC), stepdown, or telemetry
• Previous travel nurse experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted
• Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact state; pending license may be considered for submission
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Epic charting experience required
• Strong cardiac telemetry skills, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Ability to titrate vasoactive drips, including LEVO
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Team-oriented professional with excellent communication skills and a patient-first mindset

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care for adult and geriatric patients with neurological and intermediate medical needs
• Monitor telemetry and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
• Administer and titrate medications and infusions, including insulin, heparin, cardiac drips, and vasoactive drips
• Support neurological recovery and post-procedure care for patients with CVA, craniotomy, aneurysm repair, seizures, intracranial bleeds, and traumatic brain injury
• Manage respiratory support needs such as BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, oxygen therapy, and tracheostomy care
• Perform and maintain IV access, central lines, PICC lines, blood products, and phlebotomy-related duties as needed
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver safe, coordinated, high-quality patient care
• Maintain compliance with unit policies, documentation standards, and patient safety protocols
