Overview

This Pediatric Registered Nurse position is a travel RN assignment in a highly collaborative healthcare environment with the opportunity to float across pediatric acute care, intermediate care, oncology, PICU, and NICU settings. You’ll work alongside an interdisciplinary team while delivering exceptional patient care to pediatric patients of all ages.

• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,360 - $2,480
• Location: Portland, Oregon
• Healthcare Setting: Pediatric float pool with floating across multiple units, including PICU and NICU
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
• Holiday Coverage: Must be available for at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays
• Charting System: Epic

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of pediatric critical care nursing experience required
• Experience with ventilated patients and hemodynamic monitoring preferred
• Ability to care for neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adolescents
• Current BLS certification required
• Current NRP certification required
• Current PALS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience using Epic electronic medical record (EMR) required
• Strong pediatric dosage calculation skills
• Comfort working in high-acuity, fast-paced pediatric care environments
• First-time travelers welcome

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients across varied acuity levels
• Float to units including PICU, NICU, pediatric intermediate care, oncology, and acute care areas as needed
• Monitor and manage patients requiring ventilator support, hemodynamic monitoring, and complex interventions
• Administer medications, blood products, and other treatments safely and accurately
• Perform pediatric assessments and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
• Support families with compassionate, developmentally appropriate care
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, IV teams, phlebotomy, and other clinical partners
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic
• Follow infection control, isolation, and safety protocols at all times
• Adapt quickly to unit needs while maintaining excellent patient-centered care
