• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,650 - $1,770
• Orientation: 12 hours
• Charting/Systems: Epic experience preferred

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical or biological field
• Minimum 2 years of recent Electron Microscopy experience in a clinical laboratory, pathology lab, academic medical center, or research laboratory
• Experience with specimen preparation, ultramicrotomy, and operation of TEM and/or SEM instrumentation
• Strong understanding of laboratory quality assurance, laboratory safety, and regulatory requirements
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced laboratory environment
• Valid state license preferred at time of submission
• ASCP-HT or ASCP-HTL certification preferred
• Epic experience required to submit
• Traditional AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required; RQI is not accepted
• Prior travel experience required

Responsibilities

• Prepare tissue specimens for electron microscopy, including fixation, processing, embedding, ultrathin sectioning, staining, and mounting
• Operate and maintain transmission electron microscope (TEM) and/or scanning electron microscope (SEM) equipment
• Capture, process, and archive high-quality digital images for diagnostic review
• Perform routine quality control, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with laboratory and regulatory standards
• Collaborate with pathologists, physicians, and laboratory personnel to support diagnostic testing and patient care
• Adhere to all safety, infection prevention, and quality assurance policies
• Assist with inventory management and ordering of laboratory supplies as needed
• Support a busy histology and pathology workflow focused on embedding and microtomy of H&E and unstained slides
