Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: New Haven, Connecticut
• Healthcare Setting: Short-term acute care, pediatric hematology and oncology
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 3 x 12-hour night shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
• Start Date: ASAP / 10/9/2026
• Float Assignment: May float to pediatric units including PICU, NNICU, and ED for floor-level assignments
• Charting System: Epic

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of nursing experience in oncology or a closely related specialty
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or ability to obtain Connecticut RN licensure prior to start
• APHON certification required
• Chemotherapy Administration certification required
• BLS certification required
• CPHON or CPON preferred
• Experience caring for pediatric or adolescent patients preferred
• Comfort with floating to multiple pediatric care areas as needed

Oncology RN Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to pediatric oncology patients and support families throughout treatment
• Administer chemotherapy, blood products, and related therapies safely and accurately
• Monitor patients receiving oncology treatments and respond to changes in condition promptly
• Perform central line care, blood draws from central access, and port management
• Support symptom management for patients with leukemia, solid tumors, sickle cell disease, ITP, bone marrow transplant needs, and epilepsy
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, respiratory therapy, social services, and other interdisciplinary healthcare team members
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and uphold unit safety and infection-control standards
• Adapt to a fast-paced, high-acuity pediatric environment while delivering excellent patient-centered care
