Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse license
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Current CPR certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Current NIHSS certification
• Strong documentation, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to provide safe, high-quality care in a fast-paced intermediate care setting

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care to patients in a cardiac stepdown / intermediate care environment
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards, policies, and state practice guidelines
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient plans of care
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to support patient recovery
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner
• Educate patients and families on care plans, treatments, and discharge preparation
• Use critical thinking to recognize changes in condition and escalate appropriately
• Participate in quality improvement efforts and contribute to a positive team environment
