Job Details

• Position: Certified Operating Room Technologist (OR Tech) / Surgical Technologist
• Location: Portland, OR 97213
• Setting: Short-term acute care operating room
• Assignment Type: Travel allied health job
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week / 36 hours per week
• Call: Required; weekday and weekend standby coverage may apply
• Weekend Coverage: Required as needed
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,660 - $1,780
• Start Date: 10/19/2026
• End Date: 1/18/2027

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of recent OR Tech or Surgical Technologist experience required
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required
• NBSTSA certification required
• Prior travel experience required
• BLS certification required
• Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation, aseptic technique, and operating room procedures
• Experience with a broad range of adult surgical specialties preferred
• Comfortable working in a high-acuity environment that includes advanced oncology and complex surgical cases
• Ability to support on-call expectations and weekend coverage
• Must adapt quickly and work collaboratively in a fast-paced perioperative setting

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the operating room for a wide variety of surgical procedures
• Assist surgeons and the perioperative team during procedures by passing instruments and supplies efficiently
• Maintain strict sterile technique and support safe, high-quality patient care
• Set up and break down surgical trays, equipment, and case carts
• Support cases across multiple specialties, including orthopedics, general surgery, vascular, ENT, neuro, gynecology, urology, thoracic, plastics, and more
• Work with advanced surgical systems and equipment, including robotic platforms
• Respond appropriately to call responsibilities and weekend staffing needs
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other surgical services staff to ensure smooth case flow
• Follow all facility protocols for safety, infection prevention, and surgical readiness
