Job Requirements

• Current California Registered Nurse license in hand; compact license required at submission if applicable
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Previous travel nurse experience required
• BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate required
• AWHONN Advanced preferred
• Ability to circulate in the OR for cesarean section and operative deliveries
• Ability to perform sterile vaginal exams
• Comfort with high-risk obstetric care in a busy, high-acuity hospital environment
• First-time travelers will not be considered
• Ability to provide references and complete compliance steps prior to start

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care to laboring patients and newborns in a high-risk Labor & Delivery unit
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, D&C, cerclage, and version procedures
• Circulate for C-sections and support the operative delivery team as needed
• Perform sterile vaginal exams and monitor labor progression
• Recognize and respond quickly to abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Administer and monitor therapies such as magnesium sulfate, insulin drips, and antihypertensives
• Support patients with preterm labor, pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, diabetes, multiples, IUFD, and other complex obstetric diagnoses
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote excellent maternal and neonatal outcomes
• Maintain flexibility to meet unit scheduling needs, including weekends and holiday coverage as required
