Job Requirements

• Active California RN license
• BLS and NRP certification required
• At least 1 year of NICU experience required
• Experience caring for high-acuity neonates, including infants as early as 23 weeks gestation
• Comfort with charting systems and travel nurse assignment expectations
• Experience with ventilator support, CPAP, high flow, PICC lines, and umbilical line care preferred
• Ability to work night shift nursing hours and collaborate effectively in a busy specialty unit

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill neonates and infants in a Level III NICU
• Support patients requiring respiratory support, cooling protocols, and other advanced neonatal therapies
• Manage specialized procedures and equipment such as PICC placement support, bronchoscopy prep, LISA, VCUG, MRI, swallow studies, and line insertions
• Monitor and care for infants on multiple respiratory modalities, including ventilators, HFV, CPAP, and high-flow support
• Administer and manage treatments related to neonatal abstinence syndrome, surfactants, steroids, and IV vasopressors as directed
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, social services, physical therapy, and rapid response teams
• Provide safe, compassionate neonatal nursing care while adapting to a dynamic, high-acuity healthcare environment
