Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of phlebotomy, blood draw, or laboratory specimen collection experience
• Valid California CPT license
• Current BLS certification required
• Strong knowledge of specimen collection, handling, labeling, accessioning, and processing
• Ability to work with patients across the lifespan, including neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
• Comfort with computer-based registration, order entry, and documentation
• Excellent attention to detail, professionalism, reliability, and flexibility

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens using proper venipuncture and capillary collection techniques
• Receive, sort, accession, and process laboratory specimens according to workflow priorities
• Prepare specimens for testing, including centrifuging, aliquoting, storing, and transporting as needed
• Complete computerized tasks related to patient registration and laboratory test order entry
• Maintain a clean, stocked, safe, and organized work area in the laboratory
• Prioritize stat, timed, and routine collections while supporting high-quality patient care
• Follow all safety, privacy, infection control, and regulatory guidelines in daily practice
• Interact compassionately with patients and contribute to a positive clinical experience
