• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,180 - $1,260
• Hours Per Week: 40 hours guaranteed
• Shift Duration: 10-hour shifts; variable scheduling may include 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts
• Schedule: Day and overnight options; weekend coverage may be required
• Orientation: 40 hours
• Patient Population: Neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Work Environment: High-volume laboratory with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and patient-centered service

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of phlebotomy experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Current CPT certification and California CPT State License required
• Strong knowledge of specimen collection, labeling, handling, and processing procedures
• Ability to work with patients of diverse ages, backgrounds, and needs
• Experience with computerized data entry, registration, and test order workflow preferred
• Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Strong communication skills, flexibility, and a positive attitude
• Ability to follow local, state, and federal regulations related to privacy and safety

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens using proper venipuncture and specimen collection techniques
• Receive, sort, accession, and process laboratory specimens accurately and efficiently
• Support patient registration and test order entry through computerized systems
• Perform post-analytic tasks such as distributing reports and storing or retrieving specimens
• Prioritize stat, timed, and routine collections based on order requirements
• Operate basic pre-analytic laboratory equipment as needed
• Maintain documentation, cleanliness, stock levels, and overall safety in the work area
• Communicate professionally with patients and team members while delivering excellent service
• Follow all laboratory policies and procedures to support quality patient care
