• Patient Ratio: 1:1 to 1:2, depending on acuity
• Weekend Requirement: Three weekends per six-week schedule
• Floating: May float to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics as needed
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Unit Setting: High-acuity pediatric critical care environment

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license; pending state license accepted if in hand by the required deadline
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
• Recent experience in PICU or a similarly high-acuity pediatric critical care setting
• BLS and PALS certification required
• Epic charting experience required
• BSN preferred
• Ability to work night shifts and meet weekend and holiday expectations
• Experience with pediatric cardiac care is a plus
• Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-moving team environment

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill infants, children, and adolescents
• Monitor and manage complex pediatric patients with high-acuity medical and cardiac needs
• Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and support ventilator and airway care
• Perform ongoing assessments, interpret patient changes, and escalate concerns appropriately
• Support care for patients requiring advanced monitoring and specialized interventions
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and other members of the care team
• Document accurately in Epic and follow all unit protocols and safety standards
• Float within scope to related pediatric units when needed
• Deliver compassionate, family-centered care in a dynamic critical care environment
