• Float Expectations: May float to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics within scope of practice

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; Virginia license pending may be accepted if in hand by the required start deadline
• Minimum 2 years of experience in pediatric critical care, pediatric ICU, or a closely related high-acuity pediatric setting
• BLS and PALS certifications required
• Epic charting experience required
• BSN preferred
• Strong clinical skills with complex pediatric cardiac and medical patients preferred
• Comfort working rotating shifts, weekends, and occasional floating within scope
• Pediatric cardiac experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, and highly skilled care to critically ill infants, children, and adolescents in the PICU
• Monitor and manage patients with complex diagnoses, including pediatric cardiac, neurological, respiratory, trauma, and post-operative conditions
• Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and support timely interventions in a fast-paced critical care setting
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, IV teams, physical therapy, and other interdisciplinary partners
• Administer medications, blood products, and advanced therapies according to unit protocols
• Manage lines, drains, airways, ventilators, and other critical care equipment as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and communicate effectively with the care team
• Float to NICU or Acute Care Pediatrics when needed and within scope of practice
