This position is for a Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse on a night shift assignment in one of the top Anchorage healthcare jobs available now. Job Details

• Position: Med-Surg Tele Registered Nurse / Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN
• Location: Anchorage, Alaska
• Setting: Acute care hospital, 34-bed med-surg/tele unit
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Shift Options: 3x12 or 4x12 nights, traveler’s choice
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Duration: 13 or 26 weeks available
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,050 - $2,160
• Charting System: Epic
• Start Date: ASAP
• On-Call: Not required
• Weekend Coverage: May be more frequent than every other weekend depending on staffing needs
• Float: May float to similar medical-surgical units as needed
• Orientation: Included prior to start

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required; Alaska RN license preferred in hand for immediate consideration
• Pending license may be accepted if the application can be completed promptly
• At least 1 year of recent Med-Surg Telemetry or medical-surgical nursing experience required
• BLS certification required
• Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias preferred
• Ability to manage patients requiring oxygen therapy, isolation precautions, and peripheral line care
• Comfort working with adult and geriatric patient populations
• Strong charting skills and familiarity with electronic health records, including Epic, required
• Must be flexible with weekend coverage and floating within scope
• Ability to provide required references and complete compliance items before start

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric med-surg telemetry patients
• Monitor telemetry rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with virtual nurses, CNAs, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary support teams
• Provide care for patients recovering from surgical procedures and those with complex medical diagnoses
• Administer treatments, medications, and nursing interventions according to patient needs and plan of care
• Support admissions, discharges, education, care coordination, and documentation
• Maintain patient safety, infection prevention, and accurate charting throughout the shift
• Communicate effectively with providers and care team members to ensure timely, coordinated care
• Adapt to changing patient needs and unit priorities in a collaborative hospital environment
