• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,080 - $1,160
• Shift: 8-hour evening shifts, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
• Shift Pattern: 5x8 schedule with rotating weekends
• Orientation: 40 hours, including a 3-day day-shift orientation
• Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours per 2 weeks
• Start Date: 10/12/2026
• Facility Type: Level II trauma center
• Charting/Tracking: Epic and SPM instrumentation management systems
• Work Environment: High-volume, teaching-oriented department with strong quality standards

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of sterile processing experience required
• At least 1 year of experience in a similar Sterile Processing Technician or SPD role required, with strong preference for advanced experience
• CBSPD or HSPA/IAHCSMM certification required
• Experience in an acute care hospital OR or ambulatory surgery center preferred
• Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, decontamination, tray assembly, sterilization, and high-level disinfection
• Ability to work rotating weekends and adapt to a busy, collaborative healthcare environment
• Epic experience preferred
• Strong supply knowledge, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
• Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality and patient safety

Responsibilities

• Process, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and case carts accurately and efficiently
• Support daily tray volume and high surgical case volume in a busy hospital sterile processing department
• Handle a wide variety of service lines, including neuro, orthopedics, robotics, general surgery, GYN, and urology
• Follow proper cleaning, decontamination, wrapping, labeling, and sterilization procedures
• Maintain quality standards while supporting a collaborative and teaching-focused department
• Work safely and effectively across rotating weekends and assigned evening shifts
• Contribute to smooth surgical workflow by preparing instruments and trays on time
• Follow department protocols and documentation processes using SPM systems
• Float to like units as needed to support operational demands
