Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for the assignment location
• Compact RN license in hand at submission, if applicable
• Minimum of 1 year of recent neuro nursing experience required
• 2 years of acute inpatient nursing experience required
• NIHSS certification required
• BLS certification required
• Proficiency in neuro nursing skills required
• Experience with Epic charting required
• Must be comfortable floating to other units based on skill set
• Must be available for on-call expectations if scheduled shift is canceled
• Must be able to work 3 of the 5 major holidays as scheduled
• Reliable transportation required for this Portland healthcare assignment

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to neuro patients in an acute care hospital setting
• Perform comprehensive neuro assessments and monitor for changes in condition
• Support patients with CVA, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and other neurological diagnoses
• Implement isolation precautions and maintain strict infection control standards
• Manage peripheral lines and assist with non-invasive airway care as needed
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team and respond quickly to rapid response or code situations
• Document accurately in Epic and maintain timely charting standards
• Float to other units or nearby facilities as needed to support patient care needs
• Maintain flexibility with scheduling, weekends, and holiday coverage
