Pediatric Registered Nurse Travel Assignment in Portland, Oregon | PACU, Pre-Op & Post-Op

Join a dynamic pediatric surgery and recovery team in Portland, Oregon as a Pediatric Registered Nurse on a 13-week travel nursing assignment. In this fast-paced pediatric PACU and pre/post-operative setting, you’ll provide high-quality care to infants, children, and adolescents while supporting patient safety, comfort, and family-centered care.

Job Details

• Location: Portland, OR 97225
• Area Note: Located in a welcoming Portland neighborhood with easy access to the city’s vibrant culture, scenic parks, and popular dining scene.
• Healthcare Setting: Pediatric PACU / Pre-Post / Ambulatory Surgery Recovery
• Schedule: 3 x 12-hour day shifts per week, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,050 - $2,160
• Start Date: October 26, 2026
• Patient Population: Pediatrics, infants, adolescents, and neonates
• Charting System: Epic
• Orientation: Approximately 30-40 hours
• Schedule Highlights: No call and no weekend requirement
• Assignment Type: Travel RN role with possible floating based on skill set

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required; compact licensure in hand at submission if applicable
• At least 1 year of nursing experience required
• Previous pediatric nursing experience required, preferably in PACU, pre-op, or post-op care
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Experience with Epic charting required
• Strong clinical assessment skills, including recovery monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced surgical recovery environment
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Ability to support pediatric patients and families with professionalism and compassion

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care to pediatric patients in pre-op and PACU recovery phases
• Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia and respond promptly to changes in condition
• Support pain management, sedation recovery, and discharge readiness
• Care for children undergoing procedures across a variety of surgical specialties, including orthopedics, general surgery, ENT, urology, plastics, dental, oral maxillofacial, endoscopy, and ophthalmology
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote excellent patient outcomes
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately in Epic
• Maintain high standards of patient safety, communication, and teamwork throughout each shift
• Deliver a calm, reassuring experience for pediatric patients and their families
