• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Schedule: 3x12 or 4x12 nights
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,890-$1,990
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Unit Size: 25 beds
• Average Daily Census: 23
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float Requirement: Yes, within medical-surgical units as needed
• Charting System: Cerner
• Orientation: 32 hours
• Work Environment: Busy adult unit with strong support from IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response, and more

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of med/surg or med/surg telemetry nursing experience
• Active Illinois RN license in hand or in process at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• Cerner experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred/required for consideration
• Strong experience with telemetry monitoring and rapid response support
• Experience with renal failure, pre/post hemodialysis management, and urology/nephrology care
• Competence with IV therapy, blood product administration, central line care, PICC management, and phlebotomy
• Comfortable with respiratory support devices including CPAP/BiPAP and high-flow nasal cannula
• Ability to work with isolation precautions, wound care, wound vacs, and post-op patients
• Must be flexible to float within the medical-surgical service line
• Must be able to work scheduled weekends and 2 of the 3 major holidays

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, high-quality care to adult med/surg patients
• Care for patients with urology, nephrology, kidney transplant, and general medical-surgical diagnoses
• Monitor telemetry and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Perform and assist with IV therapy, line care, blood draws, and medication administration
• Support patients requiring respiratory interventions and non-invasive airway management
• Manage post-operative and complex renal/urology cases, including continuous bladder irrigation and catheter care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and discharge planning
• Float to other med/surg units as needed to support facility needs
• Document accurately in Cerner and maintain strong clinical communication throughout the shift
• Work as charge nurse as needed for the assignment
