Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license; pending Virginia RN license may be accepted prior to start
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience preferred
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS required
• Epic experience required
• Trauma Level I experience required
• BSN preferred
• Strong experience caring for infants, children, and adolescents
• Ability to work nights and collaborate in a fast-paced pediatric perioperative environment
• Comfort with assessment-driven, detail-oriented pediatric patient care

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care for pediatric preoperative and postoperative patients
• Monitor children recovering from surgery, including overnight observation and extended recovery needs
• Perform ongoing assessments and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
• Support pain management, recovery, and discharge readiness
• Educate patients and families throughout the surgical experience
• Collaborate with anesthesia, surgery, and multidisciplinary care team members
• Assist with safe discharge planning and continuity of care
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow unit protocols
• Contribute to a supportive, family-centered pediatric care environment
