• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts

• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,840 - $1,940
• Location: Charlottesville, VA 22908
• Unit Focus: Care for neonates and infants with a wide range of complex medical and surgical needs
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Floating: Required to L&D, Mother/Baby, Pediatrics, and PICU within scope of practice

Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of NICU nursing experience required
• Full-time Level III NICU experience required; Level IV NICU experience strongly preferred
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or pending Virginia license accepted prior to start
• BLS and NRP required at time of submission
• Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certificate required, or must be in progress/pending at submission
• Epic charting experience required
• BSN preferred
• Experience with high-acuity neonatal care and advanced respiratory support strongly preferred
• Must be comfortable working rotating holiday and weekend coverage requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care to critically ill neonates and infants in a busy Level III NICU
• Monitor and manage infants requiring high-frequency ventilation, conventional ventilation, CPAP/BiPAP, NIPPV/NIMV, and iNO therapy
• Support IV fluid management, drips, hemodynamic support, medication calculations, and neonatal dosage accuracy
• Assist with admissions, IV placement, lab draws, wound and drain care, ostomy care, and line management
• Care for patients receiving whole-body cooling, post-operative recovery, and complex cardiac or congenital conditions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and more
• Float to related maternal-child and pediatric areas as needed within scope and unit expectations
• Deliver safe, compassionate, family-centered care while maintaining strong clinical judgment in a high-acuity environment
