Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; Connecticut RN licensure required before start
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in PCU, step-down, progressive care, or a closely related acute care specialty
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Ventilator, ICU, telemetry, and tracheostomy experience required
• Experience caring for ventilated patients is essential
• Experience with Epic charting preferred
• Ability to work every other weekend
• Comfortable floating within scope to PCU, telemetry, and ED boarders as needed
• Local candidates are not accepted for this travel nursing assignment

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care in a pulmonary progressive care environment
• Monitor and manage patients requiring mechanical ventilation and tracheostomy support
• Assess patient status, recognize changes quickly, and escalate concerns appropriately
• Administer medications and therapies within scope, including care related to cardiac drips and oxygen support
• Perform central line care, peripheral line management, and blood product administration as needed
• Support telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Maintain infection prevention and isolation precautions to protect patients and staff
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to deliver compassionate, efficient patient care
• Float within scope to support unit and facility needs
