Job Requirements

• Active WV RN license or Compact RN license; pending license accepted for submission
• Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience required
• At least 1 year of recent Cardiac Stepdown, Trauma Stepdown, PCU, or Progressive Care experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required through the American Heart Association
• CPI and fit test required; TNCC preferred
• Experience with telemetry, IV starts, ventilator care, and trauma stepdown patient management
• Strong background in ICU, trauma, IMC, or stepdown nursing preferred
• Comfortable working within scope in a fast-paced, high-acuity healthcare environment

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care to adult and geriatric trauma and surgical patients in a stepdown nursing setting
• Monitor telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Manage critical drips, including cardiac and hemodynamic infusions as ordered
• Care for patients with chest tubes, tracheostomies, PEG/feeding tubes, wound vacs, and epidurals
• Support IV therapy, central line care, arterial lines, and ventilator management within scope
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, IV teams, pharmacy, PT, phlebotomy, and social services
• Assist with rapid response and code team workflows when needed
• Maintain a safe, efficient, and team-oriented care environment for complex stepdown patients
