Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of Labor & Delivery or OB/GYN nursing experience; 1-2+ years preferred
• Associate degree in Nursing or equivalent education
• Current ACLS, BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring certifications
• Strong ability to interpret fetal heart rate tracings
• Knowledge of labor medications and the labor and delivery process
• Ability to perform cervical exams and support safe maternal-fetal care
• Team-oriented, friendly, and calm under pressure

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to laboring patients and newborns
• Monitor maternal and fetal status throughout the labor and delivery process
• Read and interpret fetal heart rate tracings and escalate concerns as needed
• Administer labor medications and support all phases of the labor process
• Perform cervical exams and assist with daily unit workflow
• Collaborate closely with physicians, providers, and the care team to maintain safe patient ratios and excellent outcomes
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record
• Deliver a positive patient experience through attentive, reassuring bedside care
