Job Details

• Location: Lynchburg, Virginia
• Setting: Operating Room - CVOR
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: 10/05/2026
• Shift Duration: 8-hour day shifts
• Shift Time: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,260 - $2,430
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Call Requirement: Up to three weekday call shifts and up to three weekend call shifts in a six-week schedule
• Weekend Coverage: Expected 2-3 weekends per month based on unit need
• Orientation: Occurs every other Monday

Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of Open-Heart CVOR Tech experience in a similar setting
• Prior travel surgical technologist experience required
• Active CST and Virginia license required prior to start
• CPR/BLS certification required
• Certified Surgical Technologist credential required
• COVID and flu vaccination or approved declination required
• Ability to participate in call coverage and weekend rotations
• All requested time off must be submitted and approved prior to acceptance

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons and the OR team during open-heart CVOR procedures
• Prepare the operating room with appropriate instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies
• Maintain strict sterile technique and support a safe surgical environment
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during complex cardiovascular cases
• Handle instrument counts, setup, and turnover duties efficiently
• Respond to call coverage as scheduled to support unit needs
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary staff to promote excellent patient outcomes
