Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in oncology nursing or medical-surgical specialty
• Recent, current experience in the specialty within the last 12 months
• BLS and ACLS required
• OCN preferred
• Experience with Epic charting required
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Strong skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Ability to manage central lines, PICC lines, ports, and peripheral IVs
• Experience with chemotherapy and oncology care preferred
• ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing education required
• Two professional references required, including at least one manager, director, or supervisor

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to oncology and hematology patients with a focus on safety, compassion, and patient-centered care
• Monitor and respond to telemetry changes, dysrhythmias, and rapid response situations as needed
• Administer blood products, IV antibiotics, insulin drips, and heparin drips per protocol
• Support patients experiencing oncologic emergencies such as tumor lysis syndrome and cytokine release syndrome
• Provide care for patients with diagnoses including lymphoma, multiple myeloma, leukemias, and sickle cell disease
• Maintain infection prevention practices and fall-prevention standards throughout the shift
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, respiratory services, radiology, therapy, and rapid response staff
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record
• Adapt to a variable weekend schedule and unit needs while maintaining excellent patient care
