Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of continuous MICU or adult ICU experience
• Must be able to read telemetry strips and demonstrate telemetry competency
• Active Massachusetts RN license
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
• Experience with high-acuity adult critical care patients preferred
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced critical care environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Comfortable floating to Med/Surg areas and caring for a varied patient load

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care to critically ill adult patients in a 20-bed MICU
• Monitor, assess, and respond to changing patient conditions using strong critical thinking and clinical judgment
• Care for patients with diagnoses such as sepsis, respiratory failure, GI bleed, DKA, cardiac arrest, renal failure, cardiogenic shock, overdose, and severe psychiatric conditions
• Maintain safe, attentive care with patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, and up to 1:5 when floated
• Collaborate closely with attendings, residents, and the ICU care team available 24/7
• Document accurately in EPIC and follow unit protocols, infection control standards, and best practices
• Support patient flow and adaptability by floating to other units when assigned
