• Setting: Medical Surgical Oncology / Hematology Unit
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Assignment Length: 16 weeks
• Orientation: 72 hours
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 - $2,040
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
• Floating: May float to other Med/Surg Oncology units as needed

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience in the specialty
• Current Med Surg / Oncology nursing experience required
• BLS and ACLS required
• Epic charting experience required
• Strong telemetry skills, including dysrhythmia interpretation
• Experience with IV therapy, blood product administration, and central line care
• Ability to work nights and adapt to variable weekend scheduling
• Two professional references required, including one from a manager, director, or other formal leader
• Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Flu vaccine required; COVID-19 vaccine not required

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to hematology and oncology patients
• Monitor and manage patients with diagnoses such as lymphoma, multiple myeloma, leukemias, sickle cell disease, and other hematologic conditions
• Administer chemotherapy-related supportive care, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, insulin drips, and heparin drips as ordered
• Recognize and respond to oncologic emergencies, including tumor lysis syndrome and cytokine release syndrome
• Maintain a strong focus on infection prevention and fall-risk reduction
• Support telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Perform and assist with central line, PICC, peripheral IV, and phlebotomy-related care
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary support teams to promote excellent patient outcomes
• Use Epic to document care accurately and efficiently
