Job Details

• Position: Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit / Stepdown
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse Assignment
• Location: Albany, Georgia
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,860 - $1,960
• Start Date: October 12, 2026
• Duration: 17 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• Schedule: Every other weekend
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Charting System: MEDITECH
• Orientation: 3 shifts
• Floating: May float to ICU for stepdown-level patients as needed

Job Requirements

• Active RN license
• Minimum of 2 years of recent stepdown or progressive care unit experience in an acute care setting
• BLS and ACLS required
• NIHSS preferred
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Comfort caring for cardiac, cardiovascular, and post-operative patients
• Experience with drips, chest tubes, and complex patient monitoring preferred
• Must be open to nights, weekends, holidays, and floating as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care for progressive care, cardiac, and stepdown patients
• Monitor telemetry, assess changes in condition, and respond quickly to patient needs
• Manage cardiac drips and support patients recovering from cardiovascular procedures
• Care for a variety of post-op and cardiac diagnoses, including CABG, thoracic surgery, CHF, and arrhythmias
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support timely, high-quality care
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate patient updates effectively
• Support efficient patient flow in a busy, fast-turnover Progressive Care Unit
